PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-carbon seamless steel tube superior in secondary workability. SOLUTION: The seamless steel tube includes 0.8 to 1.2% C, 3% or less Mn, 2% or less Cr, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities. The manufacturing method comprises employing a seamless steel tube having the above composition as a blank, reducingly rolling it with a cumulative diameter reducing rate of 20%, at a temperature of 650 deg.C or higher but Ac1 transformation point or lower, and subjecting it to spheroidizing annealing. Thereby, the spheroidizing time can be shortened.
