PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for uniformly and efficiently forming a thermal spray coating on the inner surface of a bent pipe, and a device therefor. SOLUTION: In the method and the device for forming a thermal spray coating on the inner surface of a bent pipe A by inserting a spray head 2 into the bent pipe A, the above-mentioned spray head 2 is inserted with an upward posture the bent pipe A, while being rotated to-and-fro in the range of about 180 degree, and then moving back the spray head 2 with a downward posture in the bent pipe A, while being rotated to-and-fro in the range of about 180 degree, to form the thermal spray coating on the inner surface in the range of 360 degree of the bent tube. And, by controlling the rotating speed of the spray head 2 slower in the upward pasture than in the downward posture to form the thermal spray coating uniformly in a direction of 360 degree. In addition, by controlling the above-mentioned rotating speed combined with the advancing and retreating speed, to efficiently form the coating.
