METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING DATA IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting and receiving data in a mobile communication system are provided to dynamically control an initially transmitted data block for smoothly transmitting the data block when retransmitting the data block in a high speed mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: A base station confirms the state of a transmission buffer transmitted to a terminal which transmits data rate information(304). The base station composes a logical EP(Encoder Packet)(306). The base station checks whether it is possible to transmit the entire size of the logical EP at a current data rate(308). If it is possible to transmit the entire size of the logical EP at the current data rate, the base station checks whether the current logical EP is 3840 bits(312). If the current logical EP is 3840 bits, the base station checks whether the current logical EP is the first logical EP set(rate set 1)(314). If the current logical EP is the first logical EP set(rate set 1), the base station composes the logical EPs as the first logical EP set(rate set 1)(316). If the current logical EP is the second logical EP set(rate set 2), the base station composes the logical EPs as the second logical EP set(rate set 2)(318). If the logical EPs are composed, the base station composes one PLP(Physical Layer Packet) using two logical EPs(320), and transmits the PLP(328).
