PURPOSE: An information processing apparatus and method for processing externally transmitted data, and an information processing program are provided to read non-simplified information and obtain non-simplified information from a printing medium by a simple instruction. CONSTITUTION: A facsimile device(101) displays information on its display unit on the basis of data transmitted from a service server(103). The facsimile device(101) requests data of a location to be linked to the service server(103) on the basis of link information inserted into the data, indicating a link to another data. The service server(103) obtains the data of the location to be linked according to the request, and converts the data of the location to be linked into print data. A printing unit of the facsimile device(101) executes printing on the basis of the print data transmitted from the service server(103).
