PURPOSE: A connecting structure of an engine and an automatic transmission is provided to connect a drive shaft of an engine with a front cover of a torque converter easily without any bolts and nuts and to prevent the noise and the damage of a connected portion by increasing the reliability of the connected portion. CONSTITUTION: A boss insertion portion(3) is formed in a crankshaft(100) to insert a front boss(1) of a torque converter. The front boss is combined with the boss insertion portion through a spline(5). By simply connecting a drive shaft in a front cover without bolts and nuts, the connecting operation is easy. By increasing the reliability of the connected portion, the noise and the damage of the connected portion are prevented. Without using a drive plate or bolts, a number of components and the weight are reduced.
