The connection device has a base element (4) with at least one connection device (5) with a plug-in socket (8) for a tongue or pin plug-in element (13) which is engaged by an elastic clamp rib at one side of the socket opening (6). The clamp rib is widened at each of its ends, with a curved surface on the side opposite the plug-in socket opening, for concavity of the clamp rib, each end section of the latter extending parallel to the axis of the elongate socket opening.
