PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for shaping the waveform of signal light which does not depend on the modulation speed and format of the signal light. SOLUTION: In this method, first, the optical signal is inputted to a first optical gate and noise of a space level of the optical signal is suppressed. Next, the optical signal outputted from the first optical gate is inputted to a second optical gate and noise of a mark level of the optical signal is suppressed. By this configuration, waveform shaping is performed to the optical signal as it is, for instance, waveform shaping that does not depend on the modulation speed and format of the optical signal can be carried out. |
