<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation of wavelength and then realize a lower cost of a wavelength conversion light source device for modulating a laser beam emitted from wavelength tunable semiconductor laser, and converting it into a 2nd higher harmonic wave for outputting it. SOLUTION: Between the wavelength tunable semiconductor laser 10 for emitting a laser beam 1 and an optical wavelength conversion element 60 of a pseudo phase matching system, a field absorption type semiconductor optical modulator 40 is arranged for modulating the laser beam 1. The element 60 has an optical waveguide 63 comprising nonlinear optical materials and a period polarization inversion structure formed along the waveguide, and converts the laser beam 1 which is made incident to the optical waveguide 63 and wave- guided, into the 2nd higher harmonic wave 2.</p> |
