PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method and device whereby a coil spring having either one of its upper and lower seat faces inclined relative to the other by a predetermined angle can be easily assembled to a shock absorber. SOLUTION: When the coil spring 5 having either one of its upper and lower seat faces inclined relative to the other by the predetermined angle is mounted to the shock absorber 2 having a lower seat 4 secured thereto, the shock absorber is supported in an inclined condition so that the coil spring becomes roughly upright, with the lower seat face of the spring abutting against the lower seat. Next, the coil spring is compressed and the shock absorber is gradually raised to an upright position so that the axis of the shock absorber passes approximately the center of the upper seat winding of the coil spring. An upper seat is then secured to the shock absorber. |
