PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing phenoxypropylamines, capable of producing the product through a process which is industrially simple and economical. SOLUTION: This method for producing the phenoxypropylamines comprises reacting phenols with acrylonitrile in the presence of a base to produce phenoxypropionitriles and then subjecting the produced phenoxypropionitriles to catalytic hydrogenation to produce the phenoxypropylamines, wherein the reaction mixture obtained by reacting the phenols with the acrylonitrile is treated with after-treatment operations including (a) an operation for neutralizing the base with an acid and (b) an operation for extracting the phenoxypropionitriles with an organic solvent which is substantially insoluble in water to obtain a solution containing the phenoxypropionitriles, and then the phenoxypropionitriles are subjected to catalytic hydrogenation.
