METHOD FOR RESETTING MAC-HS LAYER ENTITY IN HSDPA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for resetting a MAC-hs(Medium Access Control-high speed) layer entity in an HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) communication system is provided to reset an object RLC(Radio Link Control) and simultaneously reset a MAC-hs layer when an RLC reset is performed by an error generation of a frame protocol. CONSTITUTION: A transmission-side RLC transmits and receives data with a reception-side RLC in an acknowledged data transfer ready state, and checks whether an error is generated(1201,1202). The transmission-side RLC checks over whether a protocol error is generated(1203). If the protocol error is generated, the transmission-side RLC transmits a frame protocol message for instructing a MAC-hs reset according to the reset generation of the transmission-side RLC to a transmission-side MAC-hs(1204). The transmission-side RLC transits the transmission-side RLC's own state into a reset pending state, and transmits an RLC reset PDU(Protocol Data Unit) for indicating reset information to the reception-side RLC(1205).
