PURPOSE: A method for discriminating a protocol by an IP version types in a PPP link is provided to independently perform an IP address and a billing allotted to a terminal when the terminal accesses a network by forming a home server in an IP version 4 internet and an IP version 6 internet. CONSTITUTION: A terminal(321) uses an independent PPP link. An IPv4 PPP and an IPv6 PPP each uses an LCP protocol(0xc021,0xc041), PAP protocol(0xc023,0xc043), a protocol identification(0xc223,0xc243) of a CHAP, an IP datagram(0xc021,0xc057), and an IPCP(0x8021,0x8057). The terminal(321) sets an IPv4 and an IPv6 PPP link with a network server(303) and communicates with the network server(303) with an IPv4 address and an IPv6 address. The network server(303) supports a defined PPP link protocol type and discriminates and processes an IP version which the terminal(321) requires. The network server(303) simultaneously accesses an IPv4 internet(304) and an IPv6 internet(314) and routes an IP packet of the terminal(321) according to an IP version which the terminal(321) requests.
