PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish an illuminator which is simply constituted, made small in size, light in weight, and bright, and whose surface for an exit luminous flux is narrow, and also, to accomplish a projection bright image display device of high contrast and with less color irregularities. SOLUTION: A total reflection mirror whose central part is made transparent (opening) is arranged near the luminous flux emitting surface of the illumination constituted of a light source and a reflector. |
