PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a joint for a sound-absorbing-and-insulating wall and a mounting method for the joint, which bring about great expansion/ contraction deformation, and can adapt to enlargement and three-dimensional deformation. SOLUTION: In the structure of the joint for the sound-absorbing-and- insulating walls (1A and 1B), fixing plates (3A and 3B) are provided in mounting supports (2A and 2B) of the opposed walls (1A and 1B), respectively, and both ends (4A and 4B) of a joint body (4) composed of a flexible elastic body are mounted on the fixing plates (3A and 3B), so as to permit the expansion/ contraction of a part between the walls (1A and 1B). In the mounting method for the joint for the walls (1A and 1B), a length between the opposed walls (1A and 1B) is premeasured; an initial length of the joint body (4) is determined according to the premeasured length; the joint body (4) is forcedly kept in a state of the initial length by a fixing means (5); and the fixing means (5) is removed after the joint body (4) is mounted on the mounting supports (2A and 2B) under the state of the initial length.
