PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological material chip that is constituted by bonding and fixing at least one protein or a protein-bonded material (excluding nuclei acids) to a reactive solid-phase carrier on which the protein or material can be bonded and fixed quickly and stably, and to provide a method of detecting a specifically bonded target material using the chip. SOLUTION: In the biological material chip, at least one protein or A which is the reside of the protein-bonded material (excluding nuclei acids) is bonded to a solid-phase carrier formed of an organic material and having recessed and projecting sections by performing covalent coupling through a sulfonyl radial as expressed by the following formula (1) solid-phase carrier-L-SO2 -X-A (wherein, L and X respectively denote a coupling radial and- CR<1> (R<2> )-CR<3> (R<4> )-, R<1> , R<2> , R<3> and R<4> respectively denote hydrogen atoms, a 1-6C alkyl redial, a 6-20C aryl radical, and a 7-26C aralkyl radical having a 1-6C alkyl chain, and A denotes the protein or protein-bonded material (excluding nuclei acids)).
