PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage or dew formation due to environmental temperature by sustaining good detection characteristics of a flat panel type X-ray detector. SOLUTION: A radiation detector comprising radiation detecting members arrange in matrix and reading out detection signals from respective members in a specified sequence is further provided with means for retaining the radiation detector at a specified temperature. According to the arrangement, detection characteristics can be sustained stably during operation and dew formation or damage can be prevented at the time of non-operation.
