PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively produce an allenyl ether in one step. SOLUTION: An allenyl ether of formula (1) (R<1> , R<2> , R<3> , R<4> and A are each independently an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl or the like; X is a halogen atom; M is a transition metal; and L<1> and L<2> are each a ligand) is produced by reacting an oxametallacyclopentene of formula (2) with a propargyl halide of formula (3) in the presence of a metal compound.
