<p>In an embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed control apparatus (10) for controlling the movement of an optical imaging device (12), such as an endoscope. The apparatus (10) comprises: a display surface (13) for displaying an image (16) of an object (18) viewed by the optical imaging device (12); a moveably mounted image generator (20) for generating a secondary image (30) on the display surface (13); a detection device (22) for detecting a position of the secondary image (30) relative to the display surface (13); and a processor (24) for receiving data concerning the position of the secondary image (30) relative to the display surface (13), for detecting a movement of the secondary image (30) relative to the display surface (13) and for facilitating movement of the optical imaging device (12).</p> |
