PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition of difluoromethane and 1,1,1,2- tetrafluoroethane. SOLUTION: This composition comprising difluoromethane and 1,1,1,2- tetrafluoroethane is useful as a refrigerant, aerosol propellant, heat transfer medium, gaseous dielectric, fire extinguishing agent, expansion agent for polymers such as polyolefins and polyurethanes and power cycle fluid. The nearly azeotropic composition comprises an admixture of effective amounts of difluoromethane and tetrafluoroethane to form a nearly azeotropic composition. The composition is useful as a refrigerant, cleaning agent, expansion agent for polyolefins and polyurethanes, refrigerant, aerosol propellant, heat transfer medium, gaseous dielectric, fire extinguishing agent, power cycle working fluid, polymerization medium, particulate removal fluid, carrier fluid, buffing abrasive agent and displacement drying agent. |
