摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safer magnetic bearing unit capable of observing heat expansion of a rotary body without a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: The magnetic bearing unit comprises a plurality of electromagnets 12, 13, 14, and 15 magnetically floating the rotary body 2, a position detecting unit 7 of the rotary body 2, and a pair of touchdown bearings 8 and 9 mechanically supporting the rotary body 2 at both end portions of the rotary body 2 when the rotary body 2 is not supported by the electromagnets 12 to 15. Further, the position detecting unit 7 comprises two target portions 18 and 19 arranged on an outer periphery of both end portions of the rotary body 2 adjacent to the touchdown bearings 18 and 19, and two pairs of axial sensors 17 and 21 arranged to face the target portions 18 and 19 respectively at a radial direction and outputting signals corresponding to a position of the target portions 18 and 19 respectively at an axial direction.
