PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building wall-surface diagnostic robot by which a difference is not generated in the judgment of the degradation of a wall surface, which automates a diagnostic operation and by which the life of the wall surface can be estimated precisely even regarding the wall surface having a curved surface and to provide a building wall-surface diagnostic method which uses the diagnostic robot. SOLUTION: An upper slider 15 is attached to an upper guide rail 5 on an outer wall surface W so as to be runnable, and a lower carriage 30 is installed in the lower part of a building 1 so as to be runnable. The building wall-surface diagnostic robot 9 which is mounted on the lower carriage 30 is provided with supports 10 which are extended in the vertical direction along the wall surface W, an up-and-down movement mechanism 23 which can be raised and lowered, a transverse movement mechanism 12 which can be moved right and left and a forward-and-backward movement mechanism 13 which can be moved forward and backward. The front end of the mechanism 13 is connected to an inspection device 11 on which a detecting head 14 is mounted so as to be fitted to its outer circumferential part. A striking hammer 19, a vibration sensor 20 which detects a vibration, a proximity sensor 37 which detect the perpendicularity of the detecting head 14 with reference to the wall surface W, a camera which photographs the wall surface and a microphone 21 which detects a striking sound are attached to the detecting head 14. The detecting head 14 is provided with a vertical-axis rotation mechanism 24 and a horizontal-axis rotation mechanism 17. Operation control data and detection data are transmitted to a computer 36 so as to be analyzed.
