PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inside and outside air switching device of an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of suppressing the increase in production man-hours to reduce a cost by effectively utilizing an existing installation port 8 for an inside air port for taking the inside air in a cabin into an air conditioner casing 2 in an outside air inlet mode. SOLUTION: An inside and outside air switching door 6 for switchingly and selectively opening and closing an inside air inlet port 5 is installed on an air conditioner casing 2. Also an outside air inlet port 4 and the existing installation port 8 for installing a filter 9 (internally installed equipment) by insertion is provided in the air conditioner casing 2 in communication with the inside air port. Accordingly, the inside air port can be provided when the installation port 8 is formed. Thus, as compared with a case when the inside air port 10 is formed separately, a cost-effectiveness can be increased without increasing the production man-hours to cope with a request for cost reduction frequently urged in recent years.
