PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a good stroking motion by a simple structure and action in a longitudinal bag manufacturing and packaging machine in which a cylindrical packaging material in which an article is filled is stroked downward before it is sealed. SOLUTION: A seal jaw 11 and a stroking rod 12 are connected with each other by as base 14, brackets 15 and 15 and links 17...17 to form a transverse sealing device 10. Only by horizontally moving the device 10, the stroking rods 12 are brought into contact with the cylindrical packaging material F before the jaws 11 are brought into contact therewith and are brought into face contact with each other by placing the packaging material F between them and thereafter, by pushing pressure caused by horizontal movement of the devices 10, they are moved downward from a transverse sealing part to perform a stroking motion. It is, therefore, unnecessary to separately drive the jaws 11 and the stroking rods 12. As the sealing devices 10 is only horizontally moved, the structure becomes simple. Freedom of the design becomes larger and it can easily be performed to surely relatively move downward the stroking rods 12 to the packaging material F. |
