PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the yield of an epoxycyclododecane in its production by reducing 1,2-epoxy-5,9-cyclododecadiene. SOLUTION: The yield of the objective epoxycyclododecane is raised by controlling the peroxide content of 1,2-epoxy-5,9-cyclododecadiene used as the starting material to <=0.5 mol% prior to subjecting the 1,2-epoxy-5,9- cyclododecadiene to hydrogenation reduction in the presence of a platinum catalyst.
