PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently charge a compressed gas by shortening a charging time in a charging method for gradually charging the compressed gas to a target pressure. SOLUTION: This compressed gas charging device 10 operates a rate of pressure increase (inclination a2 ) in a charging process of a first stage by dividing the pressure difference (P2 -P0 ) between a pressure value P0 before charging and the detected pressure P2 in the charging process of the first stage by a charging time T1 +T2 of the preparatory stage and first stage. Then a coefficient k2 of a charging process of a second stage is operated on the basis of the proportion of a ratio of pressure increase (inclination a1 ) in the charging process of the preparatory stage and the ratio of pressure increase (inclination a2 ) of the charging process of the first stage. Then a charging time T3 of the second stage is operated on the basis of the coefficient k2 . The charging time T3 of the second stage is determined to a value of a rate larger than an ordinary estimated time, and a time to the next stop of charging is elongated. Accordingly, in the charging process of the second stage, the duration from the start of charging to the termination of charging can be shortened by reducing the stop of charging and the number of times of detecting processes near the target pressure PS.
