METHOD FOR RETRANSMITTING DATA OF SYSTEM USING HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS

PURPOSE: A method for retransmitting data of a system using HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) is provided to decide whether to request retransmission or discard received data, according to the location of non-received data generated in an RLC(Radio Link Control) layer of a communication system using the HSDPA. CONSTITUTION: When an RLC entity receives a MAC-DATA-IND primitive from a MAC(Medium Access Control) entity(800), whether RLC-PDUs(RLC-Protocol Data Unit) are included in the MAC-DATA-IND primitive is checked(801). If not, the RLC entity decides that non-received RLC-PUU are generated on an Uu interface, and the steps are ended(801-1). If included in the step 801, the RLC entity checks the SN(Sequence Number) of the included RLC-PDUs(801). The RLC entity checks whether non-received RLC-PDUs exist(803). If so, the RLC entity decides that the non-received RLC-PDUs are not generated on the Uu interface and applies an R'99 RLC operation to the non-received RLC-PDUs, then the steps are ended(803-1). If non-received RLC-PDUs do not exist in the step S803, the RLC entity check the SN of entire RLC-PDUs(804) and checks whether non-received RLC-PDUs exist(805). If so, the RLC entity checks whether the non-received RLC-PDUs are generated on the Uu interface(805-1). If so, the RLC entity applies a modified RLC operation to the non-received RLC-PDUs, and the steps are ended(805-2).
