PURPOSE: A stent covered with an expanding balloon is provided to achieve a stent capable of being effectively disposed in tubular organs, blood vessels or other tubular body portions. CONSTITUTION: The stent to be implanted in the human body comprises a stent body formed to have a free cylindrical shape. The stent body is made of any elastic materials and has a free diameter. The stent further comprises an expanding balloon type cover, which serves to prevent the stent body from sufficiently expanding up to the free diameter thereof when the stent body is located at a position having a diameter smaller than the free diameter.
