PURPOSE: A portable ultrasonic liquid level measuring instrument is provided to accurately measure type, depth and temperature of medium and achieve improved use convenience and accuracy of measurement. CONSTITUTION: A portable ultrasonic liquid level measuring instrument, comprises a monitor(10) including an LCD window(11) for displaying depth and temperature of a medium, a piezo-electric speaker(12) for outputting sound in accordance with the medium, a plurality of set buttons(13), and a controller for calculating sound velocity of ultrasonic wave by controlling transmitting/receiving signals of ultrasonic wave, displaying depth and temperature data of the medium through the LCD window, and processing data in such a manner that the sound is output through the piezo-electric speaker in accordance with the medium; a measuring tape body(20) extended in a vertical direction from the outer bottom of the monitor, and which has a flexible cable(21) attached to the rear surface of the measuring tape body; and a sensor unit(30) arranged at the outer bottom of the measuring tape body, and which has a temperature sensor(31) for sensing temperature of the medium, an ultrasonic wave transmitting sensor(33) for transmitting ultrasonic wave through the medium, and an ultrasonic wave receiving sensor(32) for receiving the ultrasonic wave and transmitting the received ultrasonic wave to a micro processor.
