PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever brake type spinning reel which can smoothly brake without separating fingers except fingers used for the braking operation from a fishing rod. SOLUTION: This lever brake type spinning reel is provided with a brake lever 21 having the first operation portion 21c and with an auxiliary lever 22 having the second operation portion 26a disposed at a position facing the first operation portion 21c. By the pulling operation of the first operation portion 21c, the brake lever 21 is operated to increase the brake force of the brake portion 20, and also by the pushing operation of the second operation portion 26a, the auxiliary lever 22 is operated to switch from a brake-releasing state to a prescribed braking state.
