PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll baler which has a compression chamber (2) whose circumference is dived by drivable transportation elements (3 and 4) and a covering apparatus (18) for covering a cylindrical part of a bale formed in the compression chamber (2) with a part of a web (21) for the cylindrical part in which the covering apparatus (18) has a movable starting apparatus (22) for pressing the web (21) for the cylindrical part to the movement face of one of the transportation elements at least a starting stage of a covering process and a separation apparatus (23) tiltable and/or movable between a cutting position (36) for cutting off the web (21) for the cylindrical part at end of the covering process and an uncut position, the starting apparatus (22) and the separation apparatus (23) are movable around the same revolving shaft (30) and the web for the cylindrical part can be surely cut since a great number of members and a large assembly space are not required. SOLUTION: The starting apparatus (22) and the separation apparatus (23) are movable around the same revolving shaft (30).
