Polyacrylonitrile and polyamide fibres, threads and fabrics are rendered antistatic by treating them with a salt of (a) acids or acid esters of the general formula RY in which R is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl or alkylaryl radical and Y is the grouping -SO2 OH, -OPO(OH)2 or -OPO(OH) (OR/sv) in which R/sv, independently of R, is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl or alkylaryl radical and (b) a polyamine of the formula <FORM:1077104/D1-D2/1> in which R1, R2 and X independently of each other are hydrogen or alkyl radicals, K=1-9 and m=2-10,000. Approximately 0.1% by weight of the salt may be applied. |
