<p>1,028,951. Practice cartridges. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. Jan. 5, 1965 [Feb. 28, 1964], No. 472/65. Heading F3A. A practice cartridge made of synthetic resin and comprising a case 3 integral with a bullet 1 as in Specification 958,945, is provided with longitudinal weakening grooves 7, 8 along which the case may split when the cartridge is fired. This is to allow escape of gas to the exterior of the case and so facilitate its ejection by the gun. The grooves may be formed by thin webs 10, Fig. 3, between thicker portions 11 of the case wall. The thicker portions may appear fish-bellied in section or may have flatted inner surfaces so that the case has a polygonal inner crosssection.</p> |
