In a first aspect, the invention relates to a method for producing air-cleaning filters of the type comprising a set of electrostatically chargeable threads (1'), which are carried by a common, form-stiff body (2), which is made from an initially flexible band (3) and includes ducts (6) through which air may pass from an inlet to the set of threads. According to the invention, the band (3) with the appurtenant threads (1') is inserted between a plurality of dogs (9, 10), at least some of which are brought to move in different directions from initial positions in order to bend the band to a continuous coil, the contour shape of which is determined by the motions of the dogs (9, 10).
