PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide human EMAP III polypeptide, the DNA (or RNA) encoding the polypeptide and a procedure for producing such polypeptide through the recombinant techniques. SOLUTION: The isolated polypeptide includes the members selected from the group consisting of (a) the polynucleotide that encoding the polypeptide including the human EMAP III; (b) the polynucleotide that encodes the matured polypeptide bearing the amino acid sequence expressed by the DNA included in the ATCC number; (c) the polynucleotide that can hybridize with (a) or (b) and is homologous in at least 70% of the sequence and (d) the polynucleotide fragment of the polynucleotides (a), (b) or (C).
