PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle stretcher constituted so that the floor surface of a vehicle is automatically detected when the front of a truck is positioned at the rear end of the floor surface of the vehicle and the locking of a front leg posture changeover device is automatically released to set a front leg to a rearwardly revolvable state. SOLUTION: In the stretcher consisting of a truck part and the stretcher part lockable to the truck part, the base part of the truck part is pivotally mounted on the underside front and rear of a base frame and the leading end thereof is equipped with front and rear leg parts revolvable before and behind. Tumbling wheels are attached to the front and rear leg parts and a posture changeover device capable of changing over the front and rear leg parts to an erected state and a state revolved forward and rearward to be tilted is provided between the base part sides of the front and rear leg parts and the base frame and a detector for detecting the floor surface of the vehicle to automatically change over the posture changeover device of the front leg part to such a state that the front leg part can be tilted rearwardly is provided. The detector consists of a reversal preventing mechanism for bringing the auxially wheel provided to an auxiliary frame freely revolved in front of the base part of the front leg part into contact with the floor surface to hold the same and a cooperation mechanism for releasing the lock state of the posture changeover device.
