PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inducer of a polylactic acid-decomposing enzyme- producing microbe or proteinase k-like protease-producing microbe, and to provide a method for decomposing polylactic acid. SOLUTION: This inducer of the polylactic acid-decomposing enzyme- producing microbe comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a glycine residue-containing oligopeptide, an alanine residue-containing oligopeptide, a valine residue-containing oligopeptide, valine, alanine, glycine, gelatin, soybeans, collagen, elastin, keratin, silk fibroin, a silk fibroin hydrolysate and the like. A method for decomposing the polylactic acid comprises composing the lactic acid in the coexistence of at least one of the above-described components and the polylactic acid-decomposing enzyme-producing microbe and/or the proteinase k-like protease-producing microbe.
