PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a machine for cleaning a lens, by which the lens can be cleaned efficiently by using such an ultrasonic wave having a megahertz frequency band that the surface roughness of the lens is not deteriorated. SOLUTION: This lens cleaning method comprises a step to immerse the lens in a cleaning liquid and a step to apply an ultrasonic vibration having the megahertz frequency band to the surface of the lens through the cleaning liquid from an oscillation source which has the oscillation surface at an equal distance from every surface of the lens and emits the ultrasonic wave having the megahertz frequency band.
