PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating finishing method which finishes the surface of a wall surface wetted by condensed water, percolated water and forcibly sprayed water by coating the wall surface with an aqueous coating material having excellent drying and hygroscopicity. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating material which essentially consists of a synthetic resin emulsion, silica of <=60μm average grain size and a film forming assistant having a boiling point below 180 deg.C, is faster in a drying rate than the water absorption rate of the coating film from the wet wall surface and has a pigment volume concentration of 60 to 85% is used.
