PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage disinfection system which can surely satisfy the standard of sewage disinfection at a low cost, and can reduce the contents of residual chlorine disinfectants, organic chloride compounds, etc., harmful to the environment by minimizing the amount of the chlorine disinfectants poured into the sewage. SOLUTION: A feed pipe 2 that feeds the sewage into a chlorine mixing tank 1 is provided with a flowmeter 6 and an coliform bacilli sensor 7. According to the measured values, the rate of a chlorine disinfectant poured into the tank (the amount of the chlorine disinfectant poured per unit amount of the water to be treated) is determined.
