A metal-pigmented paint comprises composite metal particles produced by ball milling together particles selected from the substantially pure metals zinc, lead and cadmium and particles selected from aluminium, copper and magnesium, the particles being impact welded together. Zinc dust ball milled with 0.2-0.6% preferably 0.4% aluminium is used in metal rich paint primers using epoxy ester resin as a binder to provide cathodic protection of steelwork. The pigment volume concentration may be 50%, 55%, 60% and 65%. |
