PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply optimal image processing to image data according to a photographing direction and/or a photographing region even when photographing information for expressing the photographing direction and/or the photographing region is not imparted to the image data. SOLUTION: A plurality of image data Sj are read out of an image database 10 by a readout means 1, and a determining means 2 determines whether or not the photographing information for expressing the photographing direction is imparted on the respective image data Sj. When the photographing information is not imparted, a recognizing means 3 determines the photographing direction on the basis of the image data Sj, and imparts the photographing direction recognized in an imparting means 4 to the image data Sj as the photographing information.
