HERBAL EXTRACT FOR PROMOTION OF RELEASE OF GROWTH HORMONE

PURPOSE: A herbal extract containing a Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma extract exhibiting strong growth hormone releasing activity as an effective ingredient is provided. Therefore, the extract is used as drugs and foods for promoting the release of growth hormone. CONSTITUTION: The Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma extract in the amount of 0.0001 to 10% by weight is added to foods. For an example, 0.1g of Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma is extracted in 0.1N HCl at 100deg.C for 2 hr,, hydrolyzed for 2hr and then neutralized. 0.1 to 0.5kg of Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma extract is mixed with 88kg of soft wheat flour(1st grade), all-purpose wheat flour(1st grade), 2.5kg of salt, 2.7g of glucose, 40.5kg of shortening, 5.3kg of ammonium, 0.6kg of sodium bicarbonate, 0.55kg of sodium bisulfite, 5.0kg of rice flour, 0.003kg of vitamin B1, 0.003kg of vitamin B2, 0.16kg of milk flavorings, 71.1kg of water, 4kg of whole milk powder, 1kg of powdered milk substitute, 0.1kg of monobasic calcium phosphate, 1kg of dispersing salt, 25kg of spraying milk to produce biscuit.
