SCAFFOLD FOR CULTIVATION OF ARTIFICIAL CARTILAGE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ARTIFICIAL CARTILAGE

PURPOSE: Provided is a scaffold for cultivation of an artificial cartilage which substitutes for a damaged cartilage in a human body and regenerates a cartilaginous tissue to supply nutrition to the cartilage at the same time and a method for producing artificial cartilage. CONSTITUTION: The scaffold for cultivation of an artificial cartilage comprises a composition for artificial cartilage comprising cartilage cells, cartilage membrane cells and a culture solution contained in a non-degradable and hydrophilic porous scaffold having an average pore size of 50 to 30 micrometers. The porous scaffold is made of polyvinylalcohol or a copolymer thereof and the composition for artificial cartilage cultivation further comprises a growth promoting factor to promote the growth of the cartilage cells. Also, the scaffold further includes an anti-calcium drug to protect calcium deposition.
