PURPOSE: A refining method is provided which reduces nitrogen pickup in the tapping process of an AOD (argon oxygen decarburization) refining furnace by effectively lowering concentration of nitrogen in molten steel in manufacturing low carbon low nitrogen titanium stabilized stainless steel using the AOD. CONSTITUTION: The method for refining low carbon low nitrogen titanium stabilized stainless steel is characterized in that increase of nitrogen concentration of the stainless steel is suppressed by adding 0.01 to 0.2 wt.% of titanium to molten steel in the refining furnace and tapping molten steel after sufficiently removing carbon and nitrogen from an AOD (argon oxygen decarburization) refining furnace and completing deoxidization and desulfurization, wherein increase of nitrogen concentration of the stainless steel is suppressed by adding titanium to molten steel in the refining furnace in the state that concentration of aluminum in molten steel in the AOD refining furnace is controlled to 0.005% or less and tapping molten steel.
