PURPOSE: High absorbent terry fabric having different materials between the surface and the rear side and a production method thereof are provided. The terry fabric produced has improved absorbent and skin affinity and decreased static electricity formation. CONSTITUTION: High absorbent terry fabric has projected faille yarn in the surface and the rear side of a bottom network, wherein the bottom network is formed by weaving cotton yarn as weft and PET welding yarn as warp; the lower faille of the bottom network consists of 10 to 60'S cotton yarn; the upper faille of the bottom network consists of PET/nylon conjugate yarn having thickness of 0.5de or less; the projected height of the upper and lower faille of the bottom network is 1.0 to 3.0mm; and the PET welding yarn has the thickness of 50 to 250de.
