PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the rearrangement of logical disks leading to the deterioration of I/O processing performance. SOLUTION: Optimal logical disk rearrangement matched with the I/O processing performance of physical disks 1-4 is executed by using the I/O processing performance values of the physical disks 1-4. Concretely, the physical disks 1-4 are supposed as M/M/1 type stand-by matrix models, and the mean value of the processing stand-by time of I/O requests in the physical disks 1-4 when the rearrangement of the logical disks is operated is calculated, and the rearrangement plan of the logical disks capable of minimizing the value is adopted. Also, the optimal busy rate is set in the respective physical disks 1-4, and the logical disk rearrangement plan capable of making the busy rate close to the optimal busy rate is adopted. |
