PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress decrease in the quality of a printer resulting due to scanning not being carried out properly, since the light in the peripheral part of a mount opening is measured. SOLUTION: Scanning conditions are set, after correction processing for replacing photometric values of outer-circumferential pixels with photometric values of adjacent pixels adjacent inside to the outer-circumferential pixels by a correction processing part 112, according to respective pixels obtained by prescanning under the control of a prescanning control part 111. Consequently, even if the opening circumferential part of a mount 8 is prescanned, together with an image which corresponds to the opening range of the mount 8, the scanning will be performed properly.
