PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone exchange in which the time required for initializing a software can be shortened. SOLUTION: Upon receiving a start signal indicative of detection of initialization from a reset control circuit 3, a key code read circuit 2 reads out data from a serial memory 1 according to address information from an address A designating circuit 6 and records the data thus read out sequentially in a register 5. A data transfer circuit 8 records the data recorded temporarily in the register 5 at an address of a high speed memory 10 specified by address information from an address B designating circuit 7. After key data information is recorded in the high speed memory 10, a microprocessor 4 receives a reset release signal from the reset control circuit 3 and begins software processing.
