PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily utilize an online bookmark service. SOLUTION: When any one of buttons in a new bookmark button group 325 provided in a portable bookmark apparatus 320 is depressed, the unique identification information and the identification information unique to the depressed button are generated and sent to a users terminal 310. If a bookmark is requested, the users terminal 310 specifies the identifier of contents currently being displayed or played back and sends it to the service providing system 101 together with each piece of identification information received.
