PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom type small secondary battery, having superior high-rate charge characteristics, even when increasing the capacity in the button type small secondary battery, using a carbonaceous material as the negative electrode active material, a lithium-containing composite oxide as the positive electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: In this button type small secondary battery having a negative electrode 2 which has a negative electrode mix layer comprising the carbonaceous material as the negative electrode active material; a positive electrode 1 having lithium-containing composite oxide as the positive electrode active material; and the nonaqueous electrolyte, and the thickness of the negative electrode mix layer is limited to 0.1 mm or less, and the average particle size of the carbonaceous material of the negative electrode active material is limited to two times or less of the average particle size of the lithium-containing composite oxide of the positive electrode active material. The average particle size of the carbonaceous material is preferably 5-20 μm. |
